Following the OTA for these on Android 14 yesterday, Google is rolling out the replace to Pixel gadgets on Android 15 Beta 4.2.
Android 15 Beta 4.2 was launched in mid-August as the ultimate replace earlier than the Android 15 QPR1 Beta began. That includes the August 2024 safety patch, it was later made obtainable to the Pixel 9 and 9 Professional XL.
For people who didn’t need to begin testing Quarterly Platform Launch 1 (set to launch in December) and as a substitute anticipate the “ultimate secure public Android 15 launch,” Google’s instruction was to decide out of the Android Beta Program, and ignore the downgrade OTA to Android 14. They’ve had to do this for the previous two months with no September replace on their gadgets.
As of this afternoon, these on Android 15 Beta 4.2 are actually seeing the 200~MB OTA (in comparison with over 1GB from Android 14).
Some options like Machine diagnostics and Adaptive timeout from Beta 4.2 have been faraway from the secure launch.
In the meantime, Android 15 QPR1 has not seen an replace since Beta 2 on September 12. Google surprisingly didn’t patch a handful of bugs (screenshots not capturing, lacking lockscreen shortcuts, not capable of exit apps on lockscreen, and many others.) within the weeks following. There’ll presumably be one other replace (Beta 2.1 or Beta 3) earlier than the December launch.
