Downside:
I often use ProtonVPN (free tier) on MacOS with out a hitch. Just lately I downloaded a VPN from my college (Cisco Anyconnect). I later uninstalled AnyConnect. I should have messed with one thing as a result of now ProtonVPN would not work. Particularly, ProtonVPN tries to hook up with a server however is rarely in a position to full the connection and finally provides up.
What I’ve tried to date:
- I restarted my Macbook
- I uninstalled ProtonVPN and redownloaded it
- I flushed my DNS utilizing the directions right here: https://protonvpn.com/help/flush-dns-cache
- I deleted the ProtonVPN configuration in System Settings after which had ProtonVPN “recreate” a configuration (I turned on ProtonVPN after which it requested so as to add a configuration).
Different observations:
- I downloaded one other free VPN (Windscribe) and it really works flawlessly so the issue appears to be unique to ProtonVPN?
- In System Settings in VPN, ProtonVPN is there however the slider is Disconnected. When I attempt to flip the slider on, it refuses to maneuver. Once I click on the i for Data it reveals that the “Join on Demand” setting is on.
- Only a observe however Windscribe would not present up within the VPN part of System settings (however nonetheless works?).
