Google is now broadly rolling out a redesign of the Gemini app on Android that tremendously simplifies the homescreen.
The earlier design had the “Gemini” or “Gemini Superior” brand, a carousel of strategies (which you can cover), and a “Chats & Gems” part exhibiting your final three queries.
That has all been changed by “Hiya, [name]” and a chat bubble icon within the top-left nook to entry historical past. The internet app has been equally up to date to only a greeting.
In the meantime, the textual content area beforehand had a big “Kind, discuss, or share a photograph to Gemini Superior” immediate with a centered microphone and digital camera tablet flanked by the add menu and Gemini Dwell.
All that’s now housed in a single line, like if you’re in a dialog. The ‘plus’ signal remains to be first with the immediate shortened to “Kind, discuss, or share a photograph.” The mic/digital camera tablet matches contained in the rectangular textual content area, whereas the Gemini Dwell waveform stays within the nook. There’s a pleasant animation if you faucet to broaden the sphere, which brings again the outdated UI.
Google first launched this homescreen redesign for Android in late September and it’s now seeing extensive availability throughout paid free Gemini accounts. We’re not seeing this on iOS simply but.
The simplicity of this design is considerably harking back to the Google Search homepage.
